About us

The OXIT cluster was formed in 2003 as a public partnership between the Oxfordshire Information Technology Enterprise Network and the South East Enterprise Development Agency (SEEDA).

Our goal is to create wealth for ICT companies in Oxfordshire through the collaboration of member organisations in business, education, research and government.

To achieve this goal, we will focus on:

• Facilitating the supply of ICT projects, from the county’s universities and research organisations, to the Oxford business community.
• Promoting Oxford as a ‘centre of excellence’ in software and technology.
• Creating a business platform for cooperative trading of technology and associated skills and services.
• Providing commercial support to increase innovation and knowledge transfer, and accelerate new product development and time to market.
• Addressing the needs of the ICT industry in Oxford, by providing a communications conduit between government and local business.

To ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the cluster, a steering group has been appointed to manage the cluster. This group comprises representatives from Oxford Innovation, the county’s universities, research organisations and ICT businesses, and a solicitor.

In addition, we have also established strategic alliances with Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University, CLIK Knowledge Transfer (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory) and AEA Technology. Other active partners include Oxford Innovation, Oxfordshire County Council, Manches Solicitors, and the Southern Oxfordshire Enterprise Hub.
